I need help with an egyptian word

Postby kadoodle76 » Mon Oct 22, 2007 12:12 am

I heard a word that sounds like "shakira" and I think it means "be grateful" in an egyptian language...can anybody help me figure out what this word is and how it is spelled?

Apparently, this does mean thankful in Arabic. This makes sense, as shukran in Arabic is the word for thank you. (The polite reply, you are welcome, is afwan.)
