Quite so. And that was an easy one for me since we call that type of couch an "ottomana"

Actually mana was the first written reference to "what-you-ma-callit". When it came down the Israelites said "man who" (מן הוא), or "what is it" and from that point on it became "man" (what), or contextually "what-you-ma-callit".
