Another lost positive

Postby Perry » Wed Apr 23, 2008 3:35 pm

My brother quipped this morning, as we finished up a brisk walk, that he needed to get crepit.

(It would be a great lost positive were it not for the root word crepitus, past participle of crepăre, to burst, crack.)

Perhaps your brother meant, "We need to get cracking."

Not at all. He had been discussing his own health and stamina.
