Irredentist
Anyone who wants annexation of a territory under the rule of a different state, on grounds of historical possession or ethnicity.
For example, Portugal claims the provence of Olivenza as its own, although it is also claimed (and administered) by Spain.
Any Portuguese who advocates the annexation of this provence would be an irredentist, and practicing irredentism.

So, does the Russian takeover of South Ossetia count as an irredentist move? The claim is that this part of Georgia should really be part of North Ossetia, which is part of Russia.
