To engage in fanciful daydreaming

We all woolgather from time to time concerning "what might have been" or "what we would do in the same circumstances.
Whoever wants to know something about me - as an artist which alone is significant - they should look attentively at my pictures and there seek to recognise what I am and what I want.

I had a teacher once who referred to the class as Her Sheep.
When questioned as to the reference she replied that
we were all "wool-gatherers." I've never forgotten it.
