amity

Postby Klimt » Mon Nov 15, 2010 1:16 pm

1. friendship; peaceful harmony.

2. mutual understanding and a peaceful relationship, esp. between nations; peace; accord.

Amity had existed between him and Steward, for they had sat at table, and drunk together.

And away they would go, their voices, still conversing with excessive amity, being heard moving all round the harbour.

When all had smoked, it was considered that an assurance of good faith and amity had been interchanged.

Brother! Am I slow on the uptake at times! I only just now twigged to the twist in the title of the movie "The Amityville Horror."

Given this, it looks like our Good Doctor could use some amity from his former business partners. I hope someone out there can help fix this issue, as it sounds like a set up to me. I'll have to see if my local library has access to the books.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
