Judder (verb)
To shake or vibrate forcefully, roughly or abnormally.
(From jerk or jar and shudder.)
"The bus juddered violently as it went over the cracks in the road."
"Failure to lubricate the machine caused it to judder uncontrollably."
"He absolutely juddered with fear."
Judder is similar to shudder, but with the additional implication of force and/or roughness, with no shock absorption.
