macedoine

Postby LukeJavan8 » Sun Oct 02, 2011 12:51 pm

meaning a medley or mixture, I guess.
Considering the mess of wars in the Balkans that makes
sense.
I was wondering if Greece ever got over its opposition to
Macedonia being a state in its own right, or if it will have
to enter the Olympics next year as:
FYRM: Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
Seems Greece has province of the same name and
considers the republic is making overtures to its
province by using the name, as if the name Macedonia
did not pre-date anything modern Greece could claim.

A nice addition to our ongoing olla podrida of hodgepodges of slumgullions.

It's still pronounced in a French way, so stick with Mass-e-DWAHN.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

Philip of Macedoine?
Alexander of Macedoine?
I think someone would get a sword thru their throat at
that. (Just make dumb humor).
