I never realized there was a word for something I could've used, ever so many times:

interrobang

noun
a printed punctuation mark (‽), available only in some typefaces, designed to combine the question mark (?) and the exclamation point (!), indicating a mixture of query and interjection, as after a rhetorical question. (Dictionary.com)

The mark is said to be the typographical equivalent of a grimace or a shrug of the shoulders. It applied solely to the rhetorical, when a writer wished to convey incredulity. (About.com)

I partially recall reading an article by some humorist years ago proposing a number of additional punctuation marks. Anyone else recall and perhaps locate it? The need has diminished a bit since the arrival of emoticons that serve much the same purpose and evoke the same mixed feelings.

I have to encode special characters for the text version of the GW and I wouldn't know how to encode this one. Moreover, it probably wouldn't come up on some computers.
