Pronunciation Section?

Postby Slava » Sat Mar 15, 2014 4:22 pm

What do the Agorans think of adding a new section on Pronunciations? I'm thinking of things like saying the-A-ter for theater, or ashphalt for asphalt. It would help add to the understanding of where things are said and how. Here are a couple of links that might help you decide:

Speaking Proper
Nucular Defense

Just thought I'd run that up the pole and see if anyone salutes it.

How do you propose to indicate the various pronunciations since we can't easily use diacritical marks, Trager-Smith or the IPA?

One thing that would help would be to get the accented characters box back. However, using the method the Dr. uses for the daily word seems to work for most.

What's wrong with Most Often Mispronounced Words that updating wouldn't solve?
