I have seen it used both ways in American newspapers, as lack of luck or luck held, it could be we have a lot of downunder influence. I was confused with the same issue because of the differences especially with the recent Hurricanes and reading it with both meanings being used. :roll:

Oops. Sorry, but I think I was confusing you with our own Left Coast. Hope that wasn't an insult! :wink:

Of course I know the standard is to determine direction whilst facing downstream, just as red buoys are on the starboard side when returning upstream ("Red Right Return" or "BPOE/Best People On Earth/Black Port On Entering").

Next time I'll have to remember to say, "T'other side of the Pond." :lol:
