I just happened to note that Country Girl recently became the 200th member of our Agora. We are moving along quite nicely. The more voices, the livlier the conversation.
Welcome, Country Girl (whoever you are)!

I sent her a welcome IM but didn't notice she was number 200. I beat Katy to the draw because countrygirl hadn't posted yet, but I saw her handle listed at the bottom of the main page as the newest member.

Way back in 05-06.
Happy Valentines to any who read this thread.
And it is now 2010, February.
The temperature is 4 degrees where I am.
DC and the mid-Atlantic states are digging out of
the worst blizzard in years.

You must be snow-bound and suffering from cabin fever to be digging this deep into the old threads...
...but, here I am reading them! No snow here, just raining and in the 30s.
If I had to be outside, I'd rather get snowed on than a 35 degree rain...you don't get near as wet and so you stay warmer.
But, my cows were happy to see me this morning...and I expect they will be this evening!

You would not like the snow if you had 48 inches flat, no
drifts. Worst winter in memory, other than when
I was 3 feet tall and got lost in my snow tunnels and forts.
You have cows! How interesting. You must have land
then, too, tell us about them.
I have a friend with 32 acres, 1 bull, six cows, usually
resulting in at least one calf per year, which he raises
and sells. He is 80 now so don't know how much
longer this will go on. He has to break the ice off the
water trough 1 - 2 times a day, even with the heater.
Lot of work, but I love visiting. His look like this:
Now that I have learned how to post pictures I am loving it.
