Pregnated

Postby scw1217 » Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:49 pm

You will perhaps remember my previous post regarding my relatives use of plurals. Well, my daughter and I were having a conversation the other day and she says to me, "Do you know what I hate?" "What?" I ask. "I hate it when Grandma says pregnated." "When did she say that?" I ask. "The other night. She says, 'That woman is pregnated." Am I all alone in this one??

It sounds almost...clinical....
Is she expressing a judgment or just making an observation? :) To my mind, though, not as creepy as the breezily familar "preggers". bleah.

Yes, I am not fond of that one either. I think she was making an observation about someone in the same room as her. Not sure of the entire context of the conversation, though I'm sure my daughter remembers it vividly.
