How do you say "cash"

Postby Louisamarie » Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:51 am

Everyone always laughs at me for the way "cash," "bash," and "trash." Does anyone know what part of the country pronounces it with a slightly shortened long A sound?

However it is pronounced cash is better than trash. Don't let anyone bash you.

That more frontal A (close to 'eh') I seem to hear around Chicago and GreatLakes.
