Used only in the idiom "Good Riddance!" But why? Can't a store have a nice Riddance Sale? That's what yard/garage/tag sales are, too.

Can there be a bad riddance? "Oops, you shouldn't have thrown that Picasso out."

Is "Good Riddance" really an idiom? It means what the words add up to, and idioms are usually things that don't really add up. They are just accepted to mean what we say they do.

We can't really say good riddance to our ranivorous friends across the English Channel, as they are ejected from the Euros. They provided excellent entertainment but their individual brilliance was not equivalent - in the end - to the Swiss team.

Yesterday definitely showed why football (soccer) is the most watched sport around the world. Very few more exciting days of sport than that.
