Dude, there is a checkbox in the Options section directly under the text box where you type your post, that states 'Disable BBCode in this post'.

When you post something and the URL doesn't work, for example as in this one, I believe that checkbox is checked...

Thank you, Tim. I tried to correct it and didn't succeed, got tired of trying and thought: "I'll leave it the way it is".

It didn't work, Tim. I checked and unchecked the box and nothing changed.

I think that the problem is that you are establishing a link over several lines broken by a carriage return.

This will not work:
one line
another line

but this will:

Code: Select all

[url=http://www.alphadictionary.com]text in one line[/url]
text in one line.

I took your advice, but it didn't work either. Maybe I'm just too stupid for this. Sometimes I wonder how I'm able to log on.

This one works because there is no carriage return after the closing square bracket. It wraps to a new line, but there is no character, and no carriage return, between the closing bracket of the opening url tag and the beginning of the descriptive text:

". . . thefreedictionary.com/tonometer]tonometer[/url]"

Depends, I suspect, on what he or she says....

Hmm... I'm not sure I agree with that premise.

But I suppose it doesn't matter how smart a person is if others do not recognize or perceive it...
