Language and culture go together. Respect for the elder seems to play a big role in Vietnamese. There is an Amerind language, I can't remember which one, that has many words for water. Water I can see is one word as are water out of sight, river water, lake water, water in a pot, and so on.
What does the lack of such structures in English tell us about our culture?
