Home Wind Turbines
The Machine which converts the kinetic energy of wind into mechanical energy is called as wind turbine. The pumps or grinding stones uses mechanical energy directly from this machinery which is generally known as windmill. If mechanical energy is converted to electricity, the machine is called as wind electricity generator. There are two types of wind turbines. These wind turbines are basically categorized on the basis of their axis of rotation. Commonly, we can get to see the turbine which rotates around a horizontal axis and vertical axis. The vertical axis turbines are frequently not used.
Residential Wind Turbine:
Residential wind turbines are very much beneficial as they are used for household purpose. This residential wind turbine is used to produce electricity. An individual can cut of his electricity bill by 40 to 90 percent by incorporating residential wind turbine. A person can advance his house by using residential wind turbines. When an individual makes use of fossil fuels, the outcome is that it causes climatic changes, leading to pollution which is rather unbearable. Use of wind power can avoid above mentioned problems. Wind power is an inexhaustible energy source. The turbine converts natural energy wind into the electricity. This does not create any pollution and this type of energy can be achieved till the wind exits.
Residential wind turbine is also known as small wind mill. A residential turbine has the capacity to produce more electricity than an individual's need. The excess electricity thus produced can be sold to the person in need. The word turbines can sometimes be unapproachable by many individuals. When an individual hears the word wind turbine the first thing that comes to individual mind is of large and noisy wind mills. The small wind turbine is not so big but the machinery makes bulky and sometimes noisy. These small turbines sizes varies from about three to five feet wide from the tip. One problem which arises when using wind power is height of the wind mill. To produce wind power turbines it needs to get 10 miles an hour of wind.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Home Wind Turbines:
Various types of turbines have their own different advantages, disadvantages and features. The wind turbines can provide an individual with electricity even at night when there is no solar energy available, as these turbines need natural wind for creating power. To generate electricity with the wind power it needs number of turbines which is one of the main drawbacks of wind power. These turbines have become well-organized, still they need a large amount of substantial energy. There are two solutions for above mentioned problems and they are new and old wind turbines. The old solution needs more space to keep the turbines and new solution involves making use of wind farm at sea. In recent times household windmills are becoming fashionable. These wind turbines are increasingly accepted by many of the people in the different countries. Wind is renewable source so it can be used unlimitedly as wind is not going to finish in any condition. By using wind turbines we can reduce our electric bills. Use of wind turbines also reduces pollution.
