Congratulations, Kids! You've completed learning the next round of vocabulary words, and now it's time to review.

Hear It!

accept

Which Means:

To agree to something or to receive something.

As In:

Image Did she accept your invitation to the Valentine's dance?

Heads Up!

Be careful not to confuse this with 'except', which means 'not including' or 'but'.

approach

Which Means:

To move closer to something.

As In:

Image Cindy is approaching the water in a dive.

Heads Up!

Remember that the 'oh' sound in this word is written OA.

comb

Which Means:

A hand tool with small teeth for smoothing the hair.

As In:

Image She forgot to bring her comb with her on the trip.

Heads Up!

This word has a silent B on the end.

choice

Which Means:

When you pick something out, you make one of these.

As In:

Image She has to make a choice which way to go next.

Heads Up!

You don't have to make a choice between the two vowels in this word; always use both O and I.

curious

Which Means:

Very interested in.

As In:

Image She is very curious about different places in the world.

Heads Up!

This word has an ending (-ious) with three vowels that always appear in the order of the alphabet: I, O, U.

broom

Which Means:

A tool for sweeping floors made of a brush with a long handle.

As In:

Image She quickly swept the dirt under the rug with her broom.

Heads Up!

This word sounds like 'room' with a B in front and is spelled the same way.

Which Means:

Having a sharp, dry taste you won't like.

As In:

Image Some berries are very bitter.

Remember that there are two Ts in this word.
