Which Means:

To wind up again.

As In:

Image Beth rewinds the tape again every time so it is ready to play.

Heads Up!

The prefix RE- means again or back: Replay, redo, rethink.

discontinue

Which Means:

To not keep going, to stop.

As In:

Image Due to his football injury, Phil had to discontinue playing.

Heads Up!

The prefix DIS- means not or the opposite of: disinterest, disbelieve, disagree.

unable

Which Means:

Can't or may not.

As In:

Image Since they were unable to go to school because of the snow storm, they played outside all day. Yippee!

The prefix UN- means not or the opposite of: unhappy, untie, unaware, uncontrolled.

Hear It!

Which Means:

Something to look at quickly before reading or watching the whole thing.

As In:

Image Did you see the movie preview on TV? It looks like a good movie.

Heads Up!

The prefix PRE- means before: precaution, preheat, pretest.

Hear It!

misunderstand

Which Means:

To not understand or comprehend.

As In:

Image They rarely misunderstand each other.

Heads Up!

The prefix MIS- means bad or wrong: misbehave, misspell, misbelieve, miscalculate.
