Congratulations, Kids! You've completed learning the next round of vocabulary words, and now it's time to review.

Hear It!

fee

Which Means:

The cost or payment for a service.

As In:

Image Janna paid the small fee to enter the zoo.

Heads Up!

This one should be easy: just two Es.

Hear It!

gaze

Which Means:

To look at softly and steadily for some time.

As In:

Image Juliet gazed out over the yard while doing her homework.

Heads Up!

If a person gazes at something, it is because they are interested, curious, or pleased by it.

heritage

Which Means:

Things of cultural value that belong to or are passed from one generation of people to another.

As In:

Image Elma dressed in the costume of her heritage.

Heads Up!

The first syllable is spelled HER, but is pronounced like 'hair'.

horizon

Which Means:

The line where the earth meets the sky.

As In:

Image At sunset, the horizon is a sharp contrast (difference) of color and darkness.

Heads Up!

If you write these letters in a straight line across the page, you wrote the word "horizontally".

coconut

Which Means:

The fruit of the coconut palm tree that has a hard and woody outside and edible flesh in the center.

As In:

Image Micheal enjoys drinking juice straight from the coconut!

Which Means:

Related to companies, factories, and the production of goods.

As In:

Which Means:

A diary that keeps track of thoughts and experiences, usually written in daily.

As In:

Image Dana kept a journal during her trip to India.

Which Means:

The state of matter that is between solid and gas, where the substance takes the shape of their container.

As In:

Image The liquid splashed out of the barrel.

The KW sound here is spelled with a QU.

Which Means:

A person who carries and delivers information, news, or packages.

As In:

Image The messenger carried the letter to the old woman.

Heads Up!

A messenger told me that this word has three Es and two Ss.

Which Means:

A story, or the telling of the events of a story.

As In:

Image The leader told a narrative around the campfire.
