Congratulations, Kids! You've completed learning the next round of vocabulary words, and now it's time to review.

protective

Which Means:

Designed to keep something or someone from harm or injury.

As In:

Image A helmet is a type of protective gear to use while riding bikes.

Heads Up!

Just add -IVE to the end of 'protect'!

ration

Which Means:

An equal amount of something given every so often, so as to make the supply last as long as it can.

As In:

Image Wesley and Shawn divided the pizza so that each person will get one ration now, and one later.

Heads Up!

The 'shun' part of this word is spelled -TION.

resemble

Which Means:

To look like or be similar to.

As In:

Image This man and his dog resemble each other!

Heads Up!

The S in 'resemble' sounds like a Z.

seize

Which Means:

To grab and control suddenly.

As In:

Image The snake handler prefers to seize and hold the snake around the neck.

Heads Up!

Seize the E before I to spell this one correctly.

A collection of homes in an area that was previously uninhabited (unlived-in).

As In:

As In:

As In:

Don't submit your homework with this word misspelled! SUB-MIT.

teller

Which Means:

An officer of a bank who receives and counts money paid in and pays money out.

As In:

Image The man behind the glass is the bank teller.

Heads Up!

A teller can also simply mean someone who tells something, like a story teller.
