Which Means:

Involving two or more states, or a highway that crosses into more than one state.

As In:

Image My aunt had an interstate business for which she had to travel with her bus full of pottery.

Heads Up!

When you begin to drive, you will likely drive on highways that connect states, called 'interstate highways' or just 'interstates'.

Hear It!

nonfat

Which Means:

Not having the white or yellow greasy substance in animal or human tissue (fat).

As In:

Image Milk from a cow has fat, but sometimes the fat is removed to make nonfat milk.

Heads Up!

Nonfat milk is also called skim milk. The prefix NON- means 'not'.

unaware

Which Means:

Not having the knowledge about or ability to sense something.

As In:

Image Mother was unaware of her son peeking at her from behind the chair.

Heads Up!

The prefix UN- means 'not': unheard, unseen, unfelt.

Which Means:

An item that is shipped out of a country.

As In:

Image Our country's main export is rice.

Heads Up!

Using EX- as a prefix means 'out of' or 'from': exit.

Hear It!

Which Means:

To make or create, stimulate into existence.

As In:

Image Noran hopes to produce a bench for his grandmother's garden.
