Which Means:

In the first stages of life or development, relatively new; not old.

As In:

Image The gardener started to learn about all kinds of plants when he was young.

Heads Up!

The OU sound in 'young' is the short U sound.

Hear It!

notice

Which Means:

An advance warning or announcement of something about to happen in the future.

As In:

Image The baby gave no notice that she was going to start sceaming.

Heads Up!

Break it into syllables for easier spelling: no-tice.

Hear It!

various

Which Means:

Many different kinds, one different from the next.

As In:

Image Various pies were available to eat for dessert after lunch!

Heads Up!

Various vowels are present in 'various'! The only one missing is E, and they are spelled in order: A, I, O, U.

bright

Which Means:

Shining strongly with great color or brilliance; full of light.

As In:

Image Don't look directly at the sun! It's too bright.

The GH is silent in 'bright'.

Which Means:

Past tense of "mean": to intend, to have a purpose in mind when doing or saying something.

As In:

Image Betty meant to give her friends the gift before they left on the cruise, but she forgot.
