Hear It!

dense

Which Means:

Having all the parts packed closed together, compact.

As In:

Image The sunlight never reached the floor of the dense forest.

Heads Up!

The E at the end of 'dense' is silent.

Hear It!

skeleton

Which Means:

All the bones of a human or animal body that support muscles and protect organs.

As In:

Image A science museum might display a dinosaur skeleton.

Heads Up!

Remember to spell 'skeleton' with all of those bony letters and the two Es as eyes!

Hear It!

energy

Which Means:

The capacity to do work; power that is available to use.

As In:

Image Shirley the Squirrel has the most energy in the mornings, when she wakes up.

Heads Up!

The last E sound in 'energy' is spelled with a Y.

Hear It!

orbiting

Which Means:

Moving in a circular or elliptical (oval) path around a planet or other object in space.

As In:

Image This orbiting satellite has been in the earth's atmosphere for 5 years.

Heads Up!

The O in 'orbiting' is the orbit!

Hear It!

constellation

Which Means:

A group of stars in the sky that are named after mythological (from legend) characters.

As In:

Image One very old constellation is named for Leo, the lion.

Heads Up!

The word 'stellar' is an adjective that refers to the stars in the sky, or something awesome: Tonight is a stellar night to view the stellar sky!
