agency

Which Means:

An office or business that provides service for other people.

As In:

Image A travel agency will help you arrange plans for a trip.

Heads Up!

Spell 'agency' with a CY at the end but change the Y to I in the plural: agencies.

rumor

Which Means:

A bit of information passed from person to person that may or may not be true.

As In:

Image The neighbors discussed a recent rumor they heard.

Heads Up!

Be careful to spell this word with RU and NOT like 'room'.

dizzy

Which Means:

Having the sensation that your head is spinning and that you are losing your balance.

As In:

Image Lizzy was dizzy from all the spinning she did.

Heads Up!

Dizzy is dizzy enough for two Zs.

wrap

Which Means:

To cover something by folding a piece of cloth or paper around it.

As In:

Image If you break your leg, the doctor will wrap it up in a cast.

The W in 'wrap' is silent, although you do need to include it in its spelling.

A mineral or gemstone that has a blue-greenish color.

As In:

A job that requires hard physical work to finish it.

As In:

Image The manual labor workers must lift the heavy steel I-beam.

There is no 'lay' in labor!

Which Means:

Having an empty space or cavity inside of something, not solid all the way through.

As In:

Image The tree had a hollow space inside that animals liked to make their home in.

The two Os in hollow are hollow!

Which Means:

A tool used for delicate or precise work.

As In:

Image An example of an instrument you can use in math is a ruler or triangle.

Of course, this word also means a device that can produce a musical sound as well: a piano is a musical instrument.

Which Means:

The term given to junk e-mail.

As In:

Image Carrie was tired of getting so much spam e-mail.

Heads Up!

This word, if capitalized as 'Spam', is a canned meat product.

tidy

Which Means:

Neat and orderly, with everything in its place.

As In:

Image All of the wrenches were arranged in a tidy way in the tool box.

Heads Up!

Keep this word tidy by not adding any extra letters: just TIDY.
