Which Means:

The present participle of 'shed': Letting go of the outer layer of something.

As In:

Image The tree is shedding its leaves in the approach of winter.

Heads Up!

The past tense of 'shed' is 'shed'. For the present participle, add DING.

The past participle of 'dim': Shutting out some of the light and make slightly darker.

As In:

Image The sky dimmed as the rain approached.
