Re: Macabre

A SciFi book I recently finished,humans were
given a small dot mechanism which they stuck
behind their ear, and it became a universal
translator for all alien languages. I'm hoping

Philip- Back in the day, right after dinosaurs were no more, everyone learned Latin. It was required in private and public schools. In Junior year I transferred schools and French was offered. I loved it. Took it four years, visited Quebec, and eventually France. But no body anywhere uses it around ...

Re: Mediocre

I was not too much into politics at the time
but I remember people sighing and rolling their

Re: Close

Thanks, Doc.
I also remember how classmates used the term
"that's close" when expressing 'disbelief' to something
another said. It was sort of like "no way" is used by
many today. "That's close" was early 1960's colloquialism.

Re: Ramadan

I’m giving myself a break on weekends, so I run repeats Saturday and Sunday. I rerun words initially run ten years before. I justify this with the justifications that (1) those who have subscribed within the past 10 years haven’t seen them and (2) those who subscribed before then probably need a re...

Re: Partisan

Here in Nebraska we are the only state that has a 'unicameral', a non-partisan legislature, with only one house. They call themselves 'senators' but in reality are a House of Representatives elected by district on population basis. The State eliminated its Senate decades ago. So the Democrat and Rep...

It would appear from Mark 14: 12ff, that Jesus had it all
