CUTE! Frozenwastesistan. I am changing it to that. Yes, bicameral legislature. Here in Frozenwasteistan we have the nation's only UNICAMERAL Legislature. They call themselves 'senators', whereas they are actually representatives, elected from districts based somehow on population. Was supposed to sa...

Ok, I've tried twice to embolden the
"tro" in controversy: you see my results above. What
am I not doing?

I highlight it and click the B. and that is what happens.

I love the British "controversy". They have a couple other words they do that accent thing to. Miller Beer: I remember catching that. Not too long ago some TV anchor mentioned that there were "Less people at today's Tea Party" than some previous one. Your aggh became a pir...

As mentioned elsewhere the only palindrome I was
personally connected to was a friend whose last
name was Noxon. I do need to work on them. Never
really had much to do with them, but I enjoy this
thread, and look for more "inspiration" from you two.

I know on this thread I will just sit back and enjoy. You are both too good for me. I guess I knew about Popov but did not make the connection and as for the valid Latin sentence, I did not see the sentence in the column form: Sator arepo tenet opera rotas. But I do now. I am borrowing sluggo's term...

I agree, may it be a goodly time from now.

I am sort of lost concerning the "valid Latin sentence" and
the Popov. Maybe by brain has become snowbound.
Enlighten me.

Sounds good to me, feel free to "slap my hands" if I
wander. I get excited and tend to stray. So I will
visit your new thread. Thanks.

Interesting opinions both ways. This really is fascinating. Route is definitely "rout" here, especially in postal RFD's, though they are now "streets" as in 732nd Street in some far-out county halfway to the Pacific Ocean. Your comment about 'soft-midwestern' sort of augments wha...

Hey, I am very appreciative. I put it on my wish list.
It is not the same as the movie, I mentioned.
The movie with Gene Wilder is decades old, and there
is another with Joseph McManners done recently
(he is 17 yrs. now), but I cannot find it except on YouTube.
Thanks, I will be getting this CD.

I need the sheep for the wool: warmth. It is going below zero tonight, again and again. I love the Little Prince. Used the French version years ago in 2nd year French which I used to teach. I don't know if I've ever seen the 'opera". Is that the same as the movie with Richard Kiley and Gene Wil...

Old postings. But I am learning things. I won't question expecting an answer, but I'll bet the Old Site was YourDictionar:Word of the Day. I recognize names here that were in older threads there. I guess I am a refugee here from that same site, as it is now defunct, and I've found 'safe haven' here,...

The conversation reminds me of Haiti. I've visited there,
and it is deep, grinding poverty. Memories I wish I could
forget, but probably better that I don't.

This thread pleases me very much. I feel very welcome.
And a "learner" still, even as a retired high school teacher.
Thanks for all the help everyone gave me today.
