Limnology is a new word to me. I will use it. I note the kinship with slime and indeed a limpid pond might get slimy. My experience is with small man-made ponds created by putting a dirt dam across a usually dry creek here in the hinterlands. We call them tanks as a local name. We also call concrete...

Yes, my age-related problem looms large in what is left of my mind. At times I was unhappy with who was president of the USA. Nowadays I'm happy if I can remember who the president is. Since I can't remember if I voted for him, I don't know whether to be mad or glad. :D

In the Baptist tradition, retired ministers are often designated emeritus. As one such recipient of the honor said, "Emeritus means you are still expected to work but you don't get paid."
