I thank the Good Doctor but I would like to set the record straight. Brazilian universities use the title professor emeritus as an official tribute to their faculty members who had outstanding academic careers. I am just a retired professor.

Narrative occurs several times in these pages but not as a Good Word of the day. On the other hand, it is often used to justify completely different interpretations of the same facts, besides several other meanings.

It seems to me that inamorato means in Italian one who is in love. I don't think there is anything illicit about it .I have a question about this one; is an inamorato or inamorata by definition illicit? Don't they mean something along the lines of 'one who is loved'?

My son spent a few months in Australia and learnt another word that seems to mean something similar to bloke: bogan. Does it?
Bloke is an interesting one. And for the life of me, I cannot remember whether we used it in the UK. Certainly it is ubiquitous here in Australia.
