HOBGOBLIN

Postby Dr. Goodword » Sun Oct 30, 2011 8:47 am

It appears to me that the conditions on the placement of accent in these words may be dependent on word emphasis. I don't recall anything about the shift of accent position from primary to secondary position in cases of word emphasis.

Does anyone else feel that in the first examples the words may be emphasized?

Curious, indeed.

The link Slava includes is, sadly, not found -- 404.

But the topic puts me in mind of the classic

Oops, sorry 'bout that. I somehow managed to forget to put the link in there. All better now.
