I live with two "dog cats" they are big tomcats that just want their food on time, their tummy's rubbed, and a soft place to sleep preferably in sunlight or near a heat source. One is smart & quite, the other is talkative & thinks he's smart. 8) Neither cat is ever aloof. Granted neither takes direction well either.

PS: I don't know why you are making fun of me, because I have changed my entry and no one can see what you are talking about now. <I spin & walk aways naturally aloof or perhaps I could "luff" away too.>

I only know 'luff' from sailing and I'm no sailor. But to me it means when a sail kinda makes a luffing sound when the wind is pushing it both ways. Dog cat on the other hand is my favorite cat. They find a warm spot and stay there. I make sure the heater is warmer than my lap and I'm ok.

So when ebertnson sez "Neither cat is ever a luff", shall we infer that they are quiet?

Dog Cats RULE!

Postby eberntson » Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:34 am

I love technology I have corrected my error. Both cats now qualify for harem duty, so there is little yammering.

After thought...

Postby eberntson » Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:45 am

Are you ready for the questions!!! <drum roll>

What do luff, bluff, & fluff have in common? They all mean something that is filled but not substantial. Now there is a group of words with a common root.

Thanks for the teasing, I didn't get enough in grade school. But I'd rather be a punchline then a punching bag.

I fer one weren't teasing, I thought you had a secret word there. Interesting typo though.
So need we delete the posts about luff then?

Coining a new word is not above me... mostly I'm full of luff.
