It should have a navy as well.

In the days of the USSR, a Russian chided a Swiss guy: How come you have a naval ministry? The Swiss guy answered: You have a ministry of justice, haven't you?

Relax! I kinda like these twin threads! It's so disorienting!

This one can be "tit" and the other can be "tat."

In truth this worm has taken a much different turn.

A language is a dialect with an army.

I'm not so self-centered to the extent that I would think of my Portuguese as Portuguese or THE Portuguese. The books I have read, the internet sites I have seen, the TV programs I have seen talk about a language that is a common heritage to eight different countries, and one of the most widely spoken languages of the world. I don't see languages belonging to this or that country. A language belongs to everybody who speaks it and/or is interested in it, be they natives or non-natives. I've always viewed myself as a citizen of the world, that's why discussions like patriotism and nationalism have always put me off. I don't see myself as a Brazilian whose mother tongue is Portuguese, I see myself as an earthling whose tongue can be any in which I happen to be expressing myself with a given person at a given time.

Is this happen to be related to "tit for tat?"

Yes, Flam it is, when I was responding to tit for tat, I accidently clicked on the new post button instead of reply, (sigh) and started a new thread which was simply NOT my intention, I was just posting what I'd found on the internet about the original topic and labeled it German because the source said it originated in Germsan.

sigh, Heavy sigh, I need some chocolate!

This worm is turning, turning, turning...

Katy, really, I don't think it bothers anyone (much) that a new thread was accidentally started. But don't let that keep you from your chocolates! :P

BD, a well thought-out reply. You wouldn't happen to be an idealist, would you? ;)
