Anyone familiar with take, took, tooken? Hear it fairly often in south central Kansas, also central Missouri.

I seen this post and had to sign up lol. I use to say "tooken" and not "taken" and my husband very early on would correct me. I generally pronounce it correctly now. I'm from Indiana. :)

We used to say, "Will you carry me to the store?" instead of "Take me to the store." We lived in Memphis at the time. I haven't heard that one in years.

I've never heard of tooken! My husband is from a small town in East Texas and always uses "carry" in that sense: "Will you carry me to the store?".

He also uses "quieten", as in "Will you kids quieten down?", the "t" not being sounded.

Also, "tump", as in "to dump something over and spill out the contents".

Us "city folks" don't use those words much but they rub off on me from time to time!

:D
