Dialect Quiz

Have you seen the new dialect test in the NYTimes? It pegged me to within 100km of where I graduated from high school. Give it a try

There is also a link to the underlying academic website;

It gave a map for each expression, but not a final compilation. Also lacks place to insert more complicated situations, e.g. i say lunch and supper and reserve dinner for big meals, whatever the time of day. To me the space between street and sidewalk is neutral ground, though that is the New Orleans term for a boulevard.

It's kind of funny for foreigners to do this quiz :)

Interesting observation Mr. Bear. What is your first language? Which dialect of English are you most familiar with? What were the results of the quiz for you? Do you think it reflects the dialect of the individual(s) from whom you learned English?
