Sassy

What take do you all have on this word? It's pretty much strictly relegated to speaking of women, and often black women. Maybe, on occasion, rather young boys, but rarely. Here's an interesting, though not overly deep piece on it:

I do wish there had been much more, but this is it. Anyone care to pile on?

Heard it all my life, and I agree it usually applies to females or small boys. I have no conception of its being related more to black than white.

Sass, however, can come from anyone!

Sassy or saucy has several; definitions. There is also the verb sass. When did it become slang? I learned it at my mother's knee, and it is an integral part of my vocabulary. It is forbidden of children to be sassy, but a sassy girl is someone to pay attention to.
