Ignivomous
Belching fire. How is this not used by everyone who writes about volcanoes?! Or old-time preachers.

Of course. Come to think of it, I'm surprised I don't remember seeing it in any of the Harry Potter novels, which do have a dragon or two in them.

Depends on the tradition, I guess.
In Anne MccCaffrey's novels, the dragons have to chew firestone in order to be able to breathe out flames, and with their breath burn the dangerous thread into oblivion.
In Northern European tradition, however, the trait apparently comes naturally.

Well, if I ate firestone, I expect I'd get indigestion and be ignivomous, too.
I did enjoy the Pern stories. McCaffrey was a very good writer. It's a wonder there isn't a slew of movies based on her books. Great stories, strong female lead characters; they'd go well nowadays, I'd think.
