Sensual or vulgar. ''Some people have pandemian tastes.''

From Shipley's Dictionary of Early English 1955:

pandemic. General; through all mankind.
Greek pan, all + demos, people.
This sense is still current, especially in
connection with disease (opposed to epidemic,
spread over a limited area) . Also
pandemian, especially in relation to love:
sensual love; Greek pandemos eros, common
love, opposed to ouranious, heavenly.
Thus Peacock in RHODODAPHNE (1818) explained:
Uranian love . . . is the deity or
genius of pure mental passion for the
good and the beautiful; and pandemian
love, of ordinary sexual attachment. Thus
Greek pandemos Aphrodite meant the
earthly Venus. The PALL MALL GAZETTE of
8 September 1883 said: It is the pandemic
not the heavenly goddess whose praises
he chants*

Sounds like a great word to use instead of lust.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
