wrack

Postby bbeeton » Sun Jan 30, 2022 7:20 pm

Detritus brought in by the tide, usually sea grasses, maybe an occasional bottle with a message, but these days including plastic junk, lost fishing gear, and other undesirable castoffs or wreckage. The wrack line is, in some locations, the limit to free access from the water's edge (and the subject of more and more legal wrangling re private property).

Used in the expression "gone to wrack and ruin", but better not in "rack one's brain".

Taken to the Dr.'s office and treated here.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
