Ramekin

Postby justscience » Mon Feb 21, 2022 4:17 pm

A most euphonic name for a small ceramic baking dish, typically with fluted sides, hopefully containing creme brulee.
Also the name of a preparation of cheese, bread crumbs and eggs, baked in such a vessel, which also would be quite welcome. Ramekins seem to be associated with rich desserts, possibly the reason their name is one of my favorite words.

The preparation of cheese, breadcrumbs and eggs sounds awfully like a soufflé, which is traditionally baked in a larger vessel resembling a ramekin. I quite fancy the version that incorporates chocolate.
