Suitable for a person with little taste or intellectual interest.
A favorite word of mine that evokes an image of a scowling Neanderthal with a prominent browline, a gaping mouth and watching a reality show on TV.

Looks like it took nearly 20 years for lowbrow to come about after someone came up with highbrow. I wonder if anyone's ever thought to aim for middlebrow.

Yep, I just looked and there it is, another 10 years on.
