Yesterday I discovered that the nurses taking blood from donors are now called venepuncturists. That reminded me of the word highfalutin.
No offence meant!

I always thought they already had a nice fancy-sounding term, phlebotomist. What would be the difference, if any?

Highfalutin, or high-falutin', as spelled by the Good Doctor, has been to the office a couple of times. Here and here, should you care to review comments.
