Good Words for June

Postby Dr. Goodword » Mon May 30, 2005 12:12 am

Here are the Good Word candidates from the Suggestions shop that we will pursue in the month of June:

lugubriouis --- Flaminus
godwottery --- Tim Ward
tergiversate --- M. Henri Day
recalcitrant --- William ?
seraglio --- Uncronopio
atavistic --- Gottsponer
concomitant --- Uncronopio
foudroyant --- Katy Brezger
amanuensis --- Uncronopio
Paean --- Stargzer

I like to acknowledge contributors by their real names, so, if you don't mind, let me know what it is if I don't already know it (as I know Stargzer).

Thank you all very much and congratulations: this was an unusually good crop of suggestions.

Fascinating. I just went through these to see if they'd been done, as I found one of these where half had never been touched. All have been treated here, with most being done twice, in 2005, and again in 2009. Are we on a 4-year cycle? Have we run out of NEW interesting words?
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

Run out of words?

Being new to the site, I certainly hope not.
