Companion -ship, company
A companion is one with whom you share bread, a "mess mate." From Latin com, with, and pan, bread. The word company must be related, though it fairly quickly expanded to mean a group of people and later a group of folk associated in a business. Also a military group. Cinnamon rolls anyone

I'm pretty much always up for a cinnamon roll. Warm, with icing. Pecans or walnuts are good, too. The problem being, though, that they keep company with me for too long, leading to large waist problems.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
