Cheesepare

Postby Slava » Sun Jul 24, 2016 7:38 am

To be stingy or cheap. As in to write a cheeseparing budget, or to cheesepare in providing something.

I'm fairly confident I know whence it comes, but it's a fun word nonetheless.

Used in Le Carré's "A Perfect Spy."
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
