Sate
I am unable to stop myself. While studying German, I discovered this word, meaning "full", as in after a meal: Satt. So similar to SATE, meaning to satisfy or fill. This comes to us by influence of Latin, from Middle English, from old English from Proto german. There must be a PIE root, but alas my investigation revealed nothing. Anyone else?

Re: Sate
Are sate and satiate unrelated? My glance just now seems to indicate such. Satiate is to satisfy, whereas sate is to over-fill. Satiate is also related to sad, interestingly enough.
