Plyometric

Postby William Hupy » Thu Aug 31, 2017 11:09 am

Is anyone out there familiar with this word? Specifically the origin and meaning of "plyo"? I know metric means measure, but I am unable to locate the meaning or origin of the root for plyo.

It apparently comes from the Greek plio- meaning 'more' or 'greater'. (Compare 'Pliocene' in geology.)
