Palmares

Has this been adopted by English speakers? I saw this in the book about Major Taylor, the premier professional bicycle racer from the turn of the last century. It means a list of prize winners. He is certainly on the list.

Using the ngram viewer, "Palmares" is usually capitalized and is a place name for various locations. Often it refers to an independent (or semi-independent) state in Brazil founded by rebel slaves (a "quilombo"). It was first organized in the middle of the 16th century. The term is also used in botany and anatomy to refer to palm-like structures. In the sense you cite, only example I found is in the "Historical Dictionary of Cycling" (Heijmans & Mallon) published in 2011 although I am sure I have seen it in material published earlier.
