Sinologist

No, this isn’t a person who studies sin. I’ve wondered about the origin of “Sino” for China for some time and finally took the time to look it up. From late Latin. We also have sinophile and sinophobe. And I suppose sinophobia.

Took only 4 years to get around to it, but I finally took a deeper gander and learned of sinicism. No, that's not a typographical error for cynicism, though it is pronounced the same. The definition according to dictionary.com: "something characteristic of or peculiar to the Chinese; a Chinese method, custom, or usage." Just as we'd say Britishism, Americanism, or Germanism. (None of these -isms except the US one passes muster with my spellcheck, by the way.)

There doesn't seem to be 'sinical', but there is sinicization.
